« PATRIOTIC CONCERT. It has been decided that the public send off to the men who are to leave here next week for the 32nd Reinforcements will be held at the Century Hall next Friday night. The program will be provided by some exceptionally fine artists from Wellington, Palmerston, Foxton and Levin. Mr. W. Brown, of 'Wellington, who is a well-known member of the Savage Club, has consented to give his humorous sermon on "Mother Hubbard," and this item alone, which has been repeated in many parts of New Zealand, is one quite out of the ordinary. Mr J. K. Hornblow, of Foxton, and Miss Doris Signal, both of whom are always sure of a warm welcome in [Levin, wlill provide a humorous Hkdt|ch, and both will be heard in individual items also. Mr Golder is another performer who is sure to contribute some good laughter-raising items, and many local people already kr.ow his ability in this direction. I* addition to Ibidding Parewefll to !tho men about to leave, it is hoped at tho same time to welcome back sereral men who have returned from the front. Advice has just been treceived that Miss .Dean, of Palmerston North, whom Levin people have been hoping for some time-to have the pleasure of Ikm ring. will be amongst the contributors to the concert program. Miss Drew is [regarded as a ipairtiicuflarly fine vocalist, and although she has sung in Levin before, it was some years ago, and she will be new to most of her auditors.
