•LEVIN LIVESTOCK SALES. Tlie N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Co.. 'Ltd., reports:—We hold our usual weekly stock sale at Levin yards 011 Tuesday last, when we offered a fair entry of sheep and cattle. A brighter tone ex.isted all round, and we have to report a clearance at the following prices:—Medium fat ewes 31s 6(1 to 32s Bd.fa ir conditioned empty ewes 21s 4d, cull ewes 12s 3d. woolly b.f. lambs 19s; weaner steers £4 14s, 18-month steers £(j 18s Gd, store cows £4 l(is to £0 12s. foirward conditioned cows £7 10s to £7 15s, cows in calf £6 Is to £7 1-js, springing cow £9 10s, bulls to £7.

Messrs Dalgety and Company report having held a clearing sale of dairy stock on 'behalf of Mr Sehvyn Simcox, at Otaiki, on Monday. The herd, though small, consisted of carefully setected oows and in regard to quality surpassed anything offered in the district for a long time. There was a good attendance of local and outside buyers, and the arrangements made for the sale together with the complete data 'available' tfor purchasers, was the subject of general comment and appreciation. Accurate calving dates, records of monthly tests, weight of milk and butter fat, together with cash returns, were given for each individual cow, and were of immense value. The average price for the cowe was £14 ss, the top price being £21. whilst the heifers averaged £11. Implements and sundries also sold well.
