. THE NEW ZEALAND FARMERS' 00-OPERATIVE DISTRIBUTING COMPANY, LIMITED. WEEKLY REPORT. Wellington,. Jan. 19. Supplies of potatoes are increasing, and consequently prices have weakened. However, there is still an excellent demand. Wheat is firm at recent rates and fair 'business passing. Maize is slow. 'Fair business is being done in oats and recent prices being maintained. Pollard and loraii show no change. Thore is a fair demand for dressed pork which is now in better supply, prices being slightly lower. Eggs a/re scarce and remain firm at recent rates. Poultry is in good demand, realising fair prices. Linseed oil cake meal for stock feeding
is being used in increasing quantities ! with excellent results Vegetables.—Green peas are in beti ter demand, and prices have-improved, j French beans arc eagerly bought up. Cabbages aro lower in price owing to : largely increased supplies. Only a j few good lines of cauliflower are offerj ing and these meet with keen competition. There is an excellent demand for first-class lettuce. There is a fair demand for carrots, turnips and pail-snips. Rhubarb is slow of sale. Spring onions, mint and parsley aro selling readily, and there is a fair demand for swedes. Fruit.—Fruit arriving daily from Motueka and Hawke's Bay is of good quality aiid meets ready sale. Apricots, peaches and Burfoa.nk plums show an improvement, and prices are good. Only small quantities of greengages are offering and prices are satisfactory. Choice tomatoes are in excellent demand with good prices. There is a keen enquiry for grapes. Wheat.—Good whole Fowl, 6s lOd to 7s. Pollard.—£7 10s per ton.
