[per press association.] ATTEMPTED MURDER AND SUICIDE. Invercargill, This Day. A sensational shooting case occurred last night. Frederick Annison, an architect, about 50 years of age, mot Margaret Brcnnan, a married woman lin Victoria. Avenue. Ajfter walking for a short distanoe he suddenly drew a revolver and shot the woman through the throat. The woman succeeded in reaching home, whence she was removed to the (hospital in 1 a serious condition. Annison disappeared, and was traoed to a boardinghouse. "When the detective arrived ho shot himself in the head. Death was instantaneous. The motive for the assault on Mrs Brennan is unknown. The two had been friendly, but latterly relations had been strained. ————■a—
