However, there is still an excellent demand. Wheat is firm at recent rates and fai'r "business passing. Maize is slow. Fair business is being done in oats and recent prices being maintained. Pollard and bran show 110 change. There is a fair demand for dressed pork which is now in better supply, prices being slightly lower. Eggs ai'e scarce and remain firm at recent rates. Poultry is in good demand, realising fair prices. Linseed oil cake meal for stock feeding is being used in increasing quantities with excellent results Vegetables.—Green Pea.s are in better demand, and prices have improved. French beans are eagerly bought np. Garbages are lower in price owing to largely increased supplies. Only a few good lines of cauliflowef are offering and these meet with keen competition. There is an excellent- demand for first-class lettuce. There is a fair demand for carrots, turnips and parsnips. Rhubarb is slow of sale. Spring onions, mint and parsley are soiling readily, and thero if? a fair demand for swedes. Fruit.—-Fruit arriving daily from ATo tuck a- and Hawke's Bay is of good quality and meets ready sale. Apricots, peaches and J3urbank plums show an improvement, and prices are good. Only small quantities of greengages are offering and prices are satisfactory.
