Never Heard of "Central" Canadian Government’s Representative
At the monthly Cromwell Borough Council meeting last Thursday night a letter was received from one of our leading citizens stating that while he was in Dunedin he came into discussion with a Canadian Government representative. During his conversation this citizen found to his amazement that his acquaintance had never heard of Central Otago, so he proceeded to enlighten him as to what and where it was. The council decided to write a letter to the Canadian, extending him an invitation to see Central Otago in general and Cromwell in particular. Missing Anzac Wreaths Mystery Solved The mystery of the missing Anzac wreaths which were believed to have been stolen from the memorial gates at Queenstown has been solved by the police. The wreaths were removed without any malicious intentions by a borough council employee. He thought that because there was a complaint last year that the wreaths were left there until they withered, that it would be in order for him to remove them the day after the ceremony.
