Arrowtown Borough Council

Present at a special meeting of the Arrow Borough Council held on Monday, May 3, were the Mayor (Mr E. L. Thompson), Crs J. Henderson,' L. Stapp, J. W. Keed, W. J. Shaw, E. C. Paterson, and E. J. Saunders. The meeting was called to consider a programme for the celebration of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the incorporation of the Borough of Arrowtown.

It was decided to arrange a seven days’ programme', commencing with a gymkhana on New Year’s Day and with a grand ball on Friday, the 7th, for the wind-up of the celebrations. Members of the various sports clubs are to be asked toi co-operate and a meeting will be called on May 24 to finalise the suggested programme. Crs J. Henderson, L. Stapp and E. C. Paterson were elected to meet the ministers of the various denominations to endeavour to arrange church services for the one time so that a church parade can be held.
