Duck Shooting Opening

For the opening week-end the most successful sportsmen were Mr Vince Barton and Mr Charles Templeton, who at Makarora bagged 22 ducks and a few pukekos. Finding that little sport could be had from mai-mais, they kept on the move, with better results. Mr C. Capell’s party of four guns secured a mixed bag of 20 ducks, 14 geese, and 11 pukekos. A party of eight guns in ■ the Hunter Valley returned with a total of only 12 birds.
