Football at Arrowtown

A game between Arrowtown and Bannockburn, played at Arrowtown on Saturday, May 1, resulted in a win for Bannockburn by 14 points to nil. The game was fast and this, especially in the second spell, had an effect on many of the players who were not yet up to the required standard of fitness. In the first half there was little between the two teams and at the conclusion of t!i e first spell the score was 3 to nil in Bannockburn’s favour. There were some good individual efforts, but neither team combined sufficientlv.

In the second half the 'Bannockburn backs combined much better and they scored three tries, one of which was converted. Arrowtown rallied several times but were unable to cross the line. Mr A. C. Erridge was the referee.
