Tairas Defeats Wanaka

In the senior Rugby football match played at Wanaka, Tarras defeated Wanaka by 8 points to 3. Eor Tarras Snow scored a try and W. Trevathan kicked a penalty goal and converted a try. For Wanaka the veteran player, T. Templeton, scored a try after replacing Lindsay, who suffered a sprained ankle.

At . the end of the first spell neither side had scored. Tarras deserved their win in the second spell as they outplayed the Wanaka team,' which was weakened by the absence of three of its players. Snow’s try was a very fine effort, the movement starting from a scrum at half-way, the ball being handled by all the backs. Mr 11. E. Harris was referee.

The Tarras player, Colling, suffered a broken collarbone, the extent of his injury not being realised until after Pie match.
