Arrowtown Federated Farmers
Sponsored by the local Farmers Federation an interesting and enjoyable evening’s entertainment was given in the Athenaeum Hall, Arrowtown, on Tuesday evening, April 20, by a representative of Caltex Oil (N.Z.), Ltd. A series of interesting films was presented and these were well received by the large crowd that was present. A talk on the progress made by Automotive manufacturers in the development of to-day’s high speed high compression internal combustion engines was given, and a comparison between engines of earlier design and those of to-day was fully covered. The development and progress made by the oil industry in producing modern oils and fuel for use in engines was very interesting and informative. During the evening time was found to partake of light refreshments.
