Cromwell Defeats Arrowtown

The Cromwell A Grade team defeated Arrowtown by 14—6 on their home ground last Saturday. Webb kicked two penalties and one conversion and Clark and Willson each scored a try. Arrowtown’s forwards outplayed the 4 Cromwell pack in the loose, but in the set serums their superiority was not so noticeable. Cromwell forwards will have to pack about the ball if these loose forwards keep coming

through on them. The backs showed promise when they gained possession of the ball, but there is still a tendency to hold on for a fraction too long. Mr - F. Foote ably controlled the game. Junior Grade Football A practice was held between the junior team and the junior and senior teams’ emergencies last Saturday. Owing to insufficient players turning up two full teams could not be fielded, but the run that the players had will prove beneficial when the fixtures commence.
