Hon. W. E. Parry Meets Council Deputation

The Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Tourist and Health Resorts, received a deputation from the Lake County Council last Saturday night. The council was represented by deputy chairman W. A. McLean and county engineer H. A. Vezey. The urgency to provide suitable conveniences at the, Tarras bus stop, in so far as it affects the travelling public using the Mount Cook and Southern Lakes Tourist Company’s and the Railway Road Services’ buses, operating on the Timaru-Queenstown and WanakaTarras routes respectively, was stressed. It was intimated to the Minister that the company was prepared to negotiate in respect to a share of the cost, however, the Tourist and Railways Departments were also involved.

Mr Parry promised to give immediate attention to the matter. Other administration matters were also discussed.
