Complaints Lodged About Football Ground

Strong complaints were made to the Lake County Mail representative hy visiting spectators to the football at Queenstown last week when they saw a player removing a broken bottle from the ground during play. As the teams went on for the second half, they removed pieces of broken concrete and sizeable stones from the ground.

“ Things like that on a football ground are no joke. Players can get hurt easily enough without having those things lying around,” said one official when asking the Mail representative to give the matter publicity. “ I read where the Queenstown Borough Council said that they would cut back the bank on ,the Beach street side of the ground. This was when they were approached by a deputation of sports bodies early last month. Is it part of a 10-year plan? ” he added.
