WANAKA Mrs B. M. Trevathan has returned to Wanaka after spending a holiday in Dunedin and South Canterbury. Mrs A. McKegg has returned to Wanaka after spending a holiday in Christchurch and Dunedin.

Mr W. A. Scaife is visiting Oamaru. Mr and Mrs W. McPherson paid a short visit to Oamaru.

Mr and Mrs J. Richmond, Waimate, are visiting Mrs Richmond’s mother, Mrs E. M. Trevathan.

Mrs B. Templeton has returned from Dunedin.

Mr and Mrs F. Codings, Kelso (former residents of Wanaka) have been visiting the district.

CROMWELL Mr M. Crabbe, of Shannon Farm, Ripponvale, spent a few days in Dunedin last week, returning on Saturday night. Mrs E. McGarry is the guest of Mr and Mrs F. Partridge, Cromwell. Miss Valina Hayes spent a few dajs in Dunedin last week.

The Hon, Mr R. Eddy spent a few days in Cromwell last week. Mr E. Harris returned to Cromwell last week after a few days in Invercargill. Mrs W. Brown and Miss Laura Brown are accompanying Mr Albert Brown and Mr Bill Brown on their return trip to the West Coast.

companied by Mr Connolly, M.P., passed through Cromwell last Saturday on a visit to Queenstown.

The Hon. Mr Semple, after

spending a few days at Mr C. Cappell’s “ Lake House,” journeyed to Dunedin last week on business.

QUEENSTOWN Mr D. H. Cockburn left for Wellington early in the month to attend a meeting of the Meat Board, and on Monday week last, left Wellington with the members of the Main Highways Board on a tour of the North Auckland area. Mr Cockburn will return to Queenstown on the 24th inst. Mr W. Smith is at present on annual leave, and Mr H. D. Walker will be acting as postmaster during his absence. Mr Smith will resume on May 10.

Messrs J. E. Home and A. H. Wheatley spent a few days at the Eglintou Valley last week. Miss M. McDowall is on holiday. Miss P. Mutimer, late of D.S.A., is managing her business while she is away.

Mr. and Mrs. James Watson, Gore, have been on a visit to Mrs Koch. Mr. S. Wilson returned home after spending his holiday in Dunedin.

Miss N. Vernon left on a visit to Hastings.
