Farewell Functions at Albertown

On the evening of Saturday, April 10, residents of Albertown and the surrounding districts met to hid farewell to Mr G. McEwan, who had been in the employ of Mr Chas. Templeton for the past 20 years and has since left the district to reside at Amberley. The entertainment took the form of a smoke concert, and during the evening Mr H. Halliday, on behalf of those present, made the presentation of a barometer to Mr McEwan and wished him every happiness in his new sphere. Mr H. Halliday also asked the guest of the evening to accept a handbag and a monetary gift for Mrs McEwan. On the afternoon of Thursday, April 8, the ladies of Albertown entertained Mrs McEwan at the residence of Mrs Uhas. Templeton, and on behalf of those present Mrs Templeton asked Mrs McEwan to accept a silver butter dish and butter knife, Mrs McEwan suitably replying.
