Mr Parry Comments on Queenstown Hostel
“ I want to get accommodation reconstructed and built, but if I put a man on to building a hostel at Queenstown there would be a roar from one end of New Zealand to the other. All public men know these facts, but they don’t make use of them, for obvious reasons. All the time I am being criticised by people who say I am not doing enough. How can I?” said the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Parry, last week.
Figures from the Tourist Depart merit, which he would reveal at the next session of Parliament, showed that the south was doing very well, said the Minister.
