Large Audiences at Rodeo and Circus.

Skuthorpe’s rodeo and circus opened to almost capacity audiences at Queenstown last Saturday. Although concentrating on buckjumping, the highlight of the show was undoubtedly the outstanding display of Christiano with his tight rope walking act. His outstanding performance was topped off with a backward somersault on the wire which was executed with perfect balance. Another outstanding exhibition of timing, judgment and balance was that of Stan Skipway on the horizontal bar. Grand circles and flieways were executed with what appeared to be little effort. The crowd showed its appreciation of the buck-jumping displays and especially those in which local riders took place. The offer of £2O for riding “Aristocrat ” for 15 seconds was not accepted by any of the audience. The younger spectators were given an opportunity to try their skill on donkeys which- they found were not as easy to mount as they appeared.
