175 ½ Hours Non-stop Piano Playing

The people of Queenstown will be i treated to a musical treat, when Mr Jim Montecino the well-known endurance pianist will give a 12-hour exhibition of non-stop piano playing. Mr Montecino who holds the world’s record of 175-1 hours (8 days) nonstop playing, played in Dunedin three weeks ago, where thousands of people went to see and hear him entertain them through the days and nights. His latest attempt to smash his own record, in which ho played for 1151 hours, although 60 hours off his best time, was a remarkable performance, as he was playing in adverse conditions, the crowds were entertained by him with good music accompanied by vocal numbers, and dancing was held the whole time, taking much more of his energy than was necessary. Mr Montecino as well as being an able pianist, is also a lirst-elass entertainer and those who go to see him while in Queenstown are assured of being given a good afternoons and evenings entertainment. The pianist who is on his first visit to Queenstown will also play at Cromwell, Alexandra, Ranfurly and Middlemarch at later dates.
