When buying nuts, it is difficult to decide whether shelled or unshelled will give the greater value. You may save yourself work for a little extra money when you buy them shelled, especially with almonds and Brazil nuts. You can also see the quality of shelled nuts. To compare the prices of shelled and unshellcd nuts, one needs to know the relative differences in hulk and weight. It takes nearly 21b of unshelled almonds .to make 11b of shelled nuts. Brazil nuts 'are also twice as heavy in the shell. In 2:}lb of unshelled walnuts there will he 11b of kernels. The shells of peanuts wi*ii>li about, half as much as the nuts.
