OBITUARY
Mr George Darcy Beale passed away suddenly a* liis residence, Arrowtown, on Friday morning, March 5, ho was born at Macetown and was a son of the late .Joseph and Matilda Beale. He received his education at the Macetown School. For many years he was mining at Macetown and then went to Dunedin where he carried on the business of building contractor until 1930. In 1931 he returned to Macetown where lie again followed the pursuit* of mining until 1938, when he retired and came to reside in Arrowtown. Over 50 years ago he married Jeannie Cameron of Albert Town. There were three children of the marriage. Edith, deceased, Charlotte Adeline (daughter, of Grey mouth), and Albert George (son, of Wellington). The late Mr Beale had a very friendly disposition, was well liked by all. His friends were numerous, to whom he was ever willing to lend a helping hand. He was also an expert at his trade doing a solid and finished job. The funeral on Sunday afternoon was attended by a large number of friends and realtions. ' * The service at the house and the graveside was* conducted by the Her. Mr Bianchi, of St. Paul's, Arrowtown. Many beautiful floral tributes were placed on the grave and showed in what great esteem Mr Reale was held among his friends. The pall-hearers were Messrs W. Lucas, W. Shaw, B. Fletcher, C. Walker, J. Humphrey, and E. C. Paterson. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Mrs'Beale and her daughter and son in the loss of a loving husband and father.
