Cromwell Bowling Activities Last Saturday rinks from Cromwell travelled to Wanaka and Bannockburn, while one Cromwell rink played Roxburgh at Cromwell. Cromwell took the Wilkinson Cup with them to Bannockburn ■ and were, successful in retaining it by beating Bannockburn 63 —60. Cromwell v. Wanaka at Wanaka Austin beat Norris, 32—10; Perrow beat Jelley, 24 —14; Pearson beat Stevenson, 22 —20. Cromwell v. Roxburgh at Cromwell Cullen beat Lawrie, 21 —12. Cromwell v. Bannockburn at Bannockburn McNamara beat Henderson, 27—23; Hodson beat Campbell, 23 —20; Rusbatch beat Stewart, 20 —14. Cromwell Wins B Grade Tennis Competition Last Saturday saw the completion of the B Grade tennis competition, when Cromwell and Bannockburn, the two leading teams, met at Cromwell to play the deciding match. The standard of play was higher than that of the last time these teams met. The weather was very hot and a slight breeze at the commencement of play was very welcome to the players. Cromwell 9 sets, 106 games. Bannockburn 7 sets, 92 games. The results are as follows: — Women’s Singles. —Miss King beat Miss McNamara, 7 —5; Miss Scott beat Miss Rusbatch, 7—2; Miss Mitchell beat Miss Felton, 7 —2; Miss Pearson beat Mrs McLachlan, 7—2. Men’s Singles, —O. Scott beat F. Foote, 9—6; L. Crabbe beat B. Munro, 9 —5; M. Lawrie beat W. Scott, 9 —6; W. Duthie beat J. Hodson, 9 —5. Men’s Doubles. —'Foote and Munro beat Scott and Crabbe, 9 —4; Lawrie and Duthie beat Scott and Hodson, 9—l. Combined Doubles. —Miss King and F. Foote beat Miss McNamara and O. Lowburn Collie Dog Club’s Meet Last Friday and Saturday the Lowburn Collie Bog Club held their aunaul trials on the property of Mr H. Perriam, Lowburn. Entries were very good and the meeting was an entire success. At the dance held at the Lowburn Hall on Saturday night after the completion of the trials, Mr J. W. D. Brown presented cups to the successful contestants and said that he hoped they would be back next year. Mr Waldron, on behalf of the judges, spoke on the excellent manner in which the trials were run, the judge’s task being very much simplified by the cooperation given by the contestants. The ladies were thanked for the way in which they attended to the catering. The results are as follows: — Class 1, Open, Head, bring back and yard (44 entries). —E. Aubrey’s Baldy (90 points) 1, S.
