GLENORCHY NOTES Personal
Mrs Elliot, Snr., is visiting Dunedin. Miss Barbara Sutherland is visiting Dunedin. Mr J. Eeid is on ,a visit to Southland. Mrs D. Scott and family have returned home after a holiday at Eiverton. Mr J. V. Cornish is on a visit to Dunedin. Miss Clarkson is visiting Dunedin. Mr M. Harris has returned to the scheelite, industry. Weather Dry weather still prevails and water for household purposes is becoming a serious problem. Farewell Dance A farewell dance to Mrs Thornton was held in the Glenorchy, Hall recently. A presentation was made on behalf of the residents by Mr J. Cornish. Music was supplied by Mr and Mrs Heffernan and Mr G. H. Yernon acted as M.C. Upper Wakatipu Progressive League The annual meeting of the Upper Wakatipu Progressive League was held on February 7. There was a full attendance of members and Mr W. E. Hume was elected chairman and Mr V. Keay secretary for the ensuing year.
