Scientific 20-minute Battery Charging
NEW MACHINE AT QUEENSTOWN As with so many things that we used to say “ can’t be done ’’—science has again confounded all our pre-conceived ideas —and this time on the subject of battery charging. Until recently ; no > one, believed that a flat battery could be safely and efficiently retharged in 20 minutes. We were all accustomed to the battery charging process taking a day or two and the car being immobilised unless we were able to borrow or hire a suitable replacement. The new machine is the “Yesta Fast Charger,” now installed at J. C. Cockburn’s service station. The machine reveals accurately the true condition of a batterytells the operator if the battery will take a charge; if the battery is shorted or sulphatcd; the length of time (in minutes) of the charge needed, and finally when the battery is properly charged. This is eloquent testimony that the charger cannot damage or adversely affect the service life of any battery connected to it.
