BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Eighty Candles Mrs C. M. King, one of the oldest residents of the Wanaka district, celebrated her eightieth birthday recently. To mark the occasion, her daughter, Mrs C. Ironside, invited a number of friends to her home. Over 30 guests were present and a very enjoyable evening was spent, most of the time being occupied with community singing. Pride of place on the supper table was taken by a birthday cake holding the appropriate number of candles. The evening was brought to a close with the singing of Auld Lang Syne.
