FISHING

Fishing at Lake Wakatipu is better than at this time last year, stated an official of the Internal Affairs Department in an interview with the “Mail” last week.

Several good catches have been reported, the best being a 10-ilb brown trout, caught near Kingston, by Mr Fred Duncan, of Dunedin. Young rainbow trout in good condition have been caught in the lake and the Kawarau River.
