STRANGE BUT TRUE
Scaling wax contains no wax. It is made of cinabar, shellac, and turpentine. Heels for .boots and shoes were not invented until about the middle of the fifteenth century. Previous to that time shoes were made all in one piece. The heel was added to give horseman a better grip on the stirrup. It was not used by people in general who travelled by foot until a hundred years later.
The older the orange tree, the smaller its fruit, the thinner the skin, the greater its sweetness. In China
there is an orange tree reputed to be GOO years old, producing the sweetest oranges in the world and so small that over 400 of them can bo packed in standard orange case two cubic feet in capacity.
