The fire brigade competition (first round) for the Watts Cup was held at Cromwell on December 13 between the Arrow,' Queenstown, and Cromwell Brigades. Results; — Two Men, Standing Pipe. —DeputySuperintendent J. Gibson and Superintendent W. McDonald (Cromwell), 47-J points, 1; Firemen T. Shaw and A. Snell (Arrowtown), 54 points, 2; Firemen J. Dag g and T. Luckie (Queenstown), 57 1-5 points, 3. Three Men, Disabled Hose. —Superintendent W. McDonald, Deputysuperintendent J. Gibson, Fireman J. Reid (Cromwell), 59 points, 1; Firemen T. Luckie, R. Anderson, J. Dagg (Queenstown), 65 points, 2; Firemen B. Fletcher, I. Dalrymple, and T. Shaw (Arrowtown), 3sec penalty, 66 points, 3. Three Men Draw for Places. —Firemen T. R. Luckie, R. Anderson, and J. Dagg (Queenstown), 72 points, 1; Firemen B. Fletcher, I. Dalrymple, and Deputy-superintendent C. Kitto (Arrowtown), 77 points, 2; Fireman G. Reid, Deputy-superintendent J. Gibson, and Superintendent W. McDonald (Cromwell), 80£ points (disqualified). The second competition takes place at Queenstown on the first Saturday in February.
