Vincent Cricketers Beat Upper Clutha O’BRIEN HITS OUT
Vincent cricket teams defeated Upper Clutha at Cromwell last week-end by 200 runs to 143. Warm weather with very little -wind, made conditions ideal for the match. Vincent went in first to accummulate a total of 200, the most commendable innings being that of O’Brien, who made 92 runs including live sixes and .12 fours. His style was clean and his stroke making sure, and he gave the spectators one of the most refreshing displays of batting that has been seen here for some time. Vincent’s fielding was poor on the whole and leaves much to be desired. Johns was the surest of the Vincent bowlers getting five for 27, while Faulks, for Upper Clutha, was also dangerous, securing four wickets for 05 runs.
