GOVERNOR’S VISIT

QUEENSTOWN ROTARY CLUB The Queenstown Rotary Club had the honour of a visit from Governor Charles Greenslade at its meeting last week. There was a large attendance. Governor Charles was welcomed by President R. Robins, after which he gave a very interesting talk on the International Assembly which was held in America, and incidental travelling experiences. Governor Charles told the club he was pleased that it had decided to meet regularly during the holidays, thus giving visiting rotarians the opportunity of keeping up their attendances. Mr G. Forbes reminded the members of the annual meeting of the Queenstown Athletic Club. Lack of local competition at the last sports and the visit of Mr Theo Allen, of the Internal Affairs Welfare Branch, for the purposes, of coaching and the purchase of equipment will be discussed. the overseas toast, the Martinborough Club, Western Virginia, was given by Dr W. A. Anderson. Visiting Rotarians were Charles Greenslade, James Hogg and Charles Francis. In the evening Governor Charles met the local Rotarians in the county chambers and discussed many matters appertaining to club activities and Rotary International.
