YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB

There was a fair attendance at .a meeting of the Young Farmers’ Club, held in the bowling pavilion last Wednesday. Mr A. Reid presided. Visiting speakers were Dr Miller, assistant director of Cawthron Institute, Nelson, who gave a lantern slide Itecture on pastures, grubs and parasites; Mr Elliot, District Committee chairman (Dunedin); and Mr Gow, Department of Agriculture, Alexandra. Miss Evans, England, who is visiting New Zealand to study hill-country sheep farming and other aspects of agriculture, was also present. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
