GYMKHANA MEETING
The meeting called by the Mayor to consider the holding of the usual gymkhana at Arrowtown on January 1 was attended by a good number of interested citizens, and it was decided to hold the gymkhana on similar lines as previous years. Mrs I. B. Ritchie was appointed secretary and chairmen of the various subcommittees were elected. It was resolved that a sound , system be installed, and that Mr Hore be asked to undertake the announcing of events. It was decided that an accident policy he taken ont to cover the day’s operations, and gate charges were fixed at Is for adults, Cd for children of school age, and Is for entry of ears to the grounds. An endeavour to procure music for a dance to be held in the evening is to be made. The next meeting is called for November .3, when the various sub-com-mittees will submit their programmes of events. It was decided to arrange transport for passengers from Queenstown on that day. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated a very enthusiastic meeting.
