An Appreciation

Sir, —Several times of recent date the writer has had opportunity to note the promptitude with which our local Fire Brigade has answered to the call of duty. He—the writer —at a still more recent date, has himself had the misfortune to require the services of our brigade, which was answered by its customary promptitude and despatch, inspiring this note of gratitude and appreciation. When we consider the fact that our local brigade functions on a voluntary basis, our town should be justly proud —not only of the services gratuitously •rendered —but rendered with such reassuring despatch and effect. May I be permitted to suggest that our township register its appreciation of such worthwhile service to the community generally in some tangible form? T am, etc., Grateful.
