TABLE TENNIS

Successful Season Concluded Apologising for the unavoidable absence of the president, the vicepresident, Mr J. McDonald, congratulated the club upon the most successful season experienced. Mr McDonald made reference to the work of the secretary and the club captain, Messrs T. Donaldson and G. Nelson, respectively, who had made untiring efforts to make the season, a success. Mr John Keen, donor of the “Keen” Cup to be awarded next season for competition between the Queenstown, Arrowtown and Alexandra- clubs, also spoke and referred to the energetic work of the officials and to the manner in which all members had co-operated during the season. His idea in donating the cup was to foster a feeling of fellowship and sportsmanship between, the clubs in Central Otago. A feature of the evening was the mixed doubles handicap tournament, which was won by Mr H. Heasman and Miss M. Campbell, the runners-up being Mr G. Nelson and Miss D. Newman. The winners were presented with a cup presented to the club by Mr Ben Marshall,. Supper, served by the Ladies’ committee, brought to a close a most successful season and enjoyable evening.
