GOLF
A mixed foursome played at the week-end brought to a close the golfing for Arrow town. The president, in presenting cups and trophies won during the season, complimented the players on their standard of play during the season. Afternoon tea was supplied by the ladies. The following are the results:—Mrs James’s Trophy for best nine holes, Mrs Given 43, 1, Mrs Douglas 44, 2; Improvers’ Cup, Mrs Swann; Ladies, Handicap. Mrs Given; Ladies’ Championship, Mrs Given; runner-up, Mrs Ogilvie; Championship Cup, Mr D. Thompson; Handicap Cup, Mr J. Partridge. Second round Ladies’ championship. — Mrs Given defeated Mrs Swann, 1 up; final round, Mrs Given defeated Mrs Ogilvie, 3 and 2. . Second round Men’s championship: — Ogilvie defeated Walker 9 and 7; Lynch defeated Yezey 1 up; Robins defeated Dougherty 2 and 1. Third round.—Ogilvie defeated Robins 7 and 5; D. Thompson defeated Lynch 1 up. Pinal. —D. Thompson defeated Ogilvie 7 and 5.
