The following arc the results of the first round of the championships:— Ladies. —Mrs Given defeated Mrs Douglas 1 up, Mrs Ogilvie defeated Mrs Summers 4 and 3, Mrs Swann defeated Mrs Walker 5 and 3. Men. —Ogilvie defeated Erridge 2 and 1, Walker defeated Douglas 5 and 3, Lynch defeated Vezey 1 up, Robins defeated Dougherty 2 and 1, Thompson defeated Stapp 3 and 2.
