Investigations had been made regarding - the grader the Alexandra Borough Council had for sale, and after a discussion it was resolved that the chairman of the Works Committee contact the engineer of the Clutha County Council in regard to the condition of the .grader it had for disposal and act accordingly. Bobby Calves to be Sent to Freezing Works The sending of bobby calves to the freezing works was discussed at a meeting convened by Mr A. Reid in the Arrow County Council chambers last Friday. Mr J. N. Thompson, stock buyer for the Makawera Freezing Company, gave a comprehensive outline of . the position and stated that throe-day-old calves would average fl each. ' The meeting was unanimous in its decision to send as many bobby calves as was possible to the freezing works. Mr E. C. Paterson was appointed to interview all farmers regarding the position. MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOT A Miniature Rifle Club shoot was held on/September 16. Results were; — Men: J. Gillan, 75.3, 78.2 (gold button); J. D. Allan. 76.3, 77.3 (silver button); J. M.
