SCHOOL SPORTS Football and Basketball
Visit from Alexandra Teams
Football and basketball teams from Alexandra District High School paid a visit to Wanaka on Tuesday, August 19, to play teams from the Wanaka School. An interesting basketball game resulted in a win for the visitors by 15 goals to 7. The football match was more closely contested, Alexandra having brought a team of matched weights, and neither side could gain, any permanent advantage in the struggle, which ended in a draw with the score 3-all. After the games the children were entertained to afternoon tea by the Wanaka School Committee and parents.
