Welcome Extended To New Postmaster
To welcome Mr W. Horc, who has been appointed Postmaster at Arrowtown, and to bid farewell to his many friends Mr E. B. Taylor sponsored an evening held in the bowling pavilion on Monday last week. Mr W. H. Thompson was in the chair and Mr Eric Hopwood at the piano. Songs were sung by Messrs J. McDonald, J. Smith, E. Hopwood, E. B. Taylor and R. Donaldson. Speakers were Messrs E. L. Thompson, W. H. Thompson, J. Smith, D. Gray, E. Hopwood, 0. C. Johnson, M. Donaldson. All referred to the efficient manner in which Mr Taylor had carried ‘out his duties as postmaster at Arrowtown and to his (inalities as a citizen and member •of the Borough Council. A hearty welcome to Mr Hdre and the wish that his stay in Arrowtown would be a pleasant one were extended.
