A pound to control the menace of wandering stock in Queenstown was not favoured by the Lake County Coimcil which considered this matter at its monthly meeting. The Queenstown Borough Council wrote seeking the County Council’s appfoval for financial assistance in the matter of establishing a pound. The County Clerk was instructed to advise the Borough Council that the County Council had found its own by-law to be effective in the matter of controlling the menace of wandering stock. It was, therefore, not in favour of incurring the capital expenditure and maintenance costs involved in the establishment of a pound.
