CORRESPONDENCE ANSWERED
One reader lias written complaining of plastic buttons, so possibly a few points about these buttons might be of interest to yon. There are very many delightful plastic buttons to be bought at the present time, so don't be discouraged and think they are a “ bad buy.” Most plastic buttons soften in hot water, and when they are soft they can cause permanent stains on fabrics, particularly when garments are left rolled up damp. Other plastic buttons are inclined to wear about the holes or where they are attached to the garments. Unless warm water only is being used; in laundering remove plastic buttons before washing, and if you really want to lie on tiie safe side remove them in any ca«e before washing. Mrs R. P. —For grass stains on wool, rub with butter and rinse in petrol.
