Mrs E. 8., McQuilkan has returned to Queenstown after visiting Dunedin. Mr'and Mrs A. A. Tripp left on Tuesday for a holiday in Dunedin. *«. , * Mr J. Edgar is visiting Christchurch for the Grand National meeting. • *, * * Mr aiid Mrs A. Todd, Wellington, are holidaying here for a few weeks. * * * Miss M. Gavin left on Monday for a visit to Invercargill. * * «= Miss Rae Home and Miss P. Mills arc spending a few days in Invercargill. * % * Mr and Mrs R. Wilson-Brown, Dunedin, spent a few days at Queenstown at their residence, One Milo road. Mr and Mrs Penman, Ashburton, are visitors to Queenstown, being in residence at the Wakatipu Courts. * * =;? Mr J. E. Home and Mr J. Home left for Dunedin and Timstru on a short visit. Mrs Goodman, Dunedin, is the guest of her sister, Mrs J. McKinney, Beach street. Sister Hazel Shears, assistant to the Matron of Ross Home, North-East Valley, and '‘Sister Alice Townrow, Dominion organising secretary for the P.W.M.U., are the guests of Miss Salmond at “ Tutuila.”
A meeting of the Queenstown School Committee will be bold to-morrow cvehing. # # The monthly meeting of the Lake County Council has been brought forward one week, and will be held at the Council Chambers to-morrow. * # A meeting of the Lake County and Internal Borough Historical Committee, will be held in the Lake County Chambers to-night (Wednesday), August 6, when Mr R W. G. Miller, member of the editorial staff of the Southland Nows Company, will be present to meet the members of the committee and discuss the publication of a book dealing with the history of the district.
