GIRLS’ SPORTS CLUB

Visitors from Mossburn

A very enjoyable tournament was hold on Saturday evening between teams from Mossburn and the local club. Keen and enjoyable games and a high standard of play was witnessed by a good attendance of spectators. In the ladies’ section Red team ran out the winners by winning all their games and in the men’s section Queenstown No. 2 team did not suffer a defeat. The Blue team which was made up mainly of younger girls, put up a very creditable performance,, playing against teams of much more experience. The club are grateful to the folloAVing, who officiated during the evening: Mr P. Dougherty and Mr J. Keen, who acted as timekeepers and scorers, iMiss Walsh, Miss Muir, Mrs Forde, Mr T. Donaldson, and Mr G. Nelson, as referees. Mr T. Donaldson, on behalf of the president, extended a welcome to the visitors. The following are the results: — First round. —White v. Blue, 8 —0; Green v. Mossburn 14 —4; Red, a bye. Second round. —Red v. White, 13 — 10; Mossburn v. Blue, 16 —6; Green, a bye. Third round. —Green v. Red, 6 —15; White v. Mossburn, 12 —10; Blue, a bye. Fourth round. —Blue v. Green, 12 — 22. Red v. Mossburn, 10< —8; White, a bye.

Men’s section. —Queenstown Rfo. 1 team v. Mossburn No. 1 team, 6 —10; Queenstown No. 2 team v. Mossburn No. 1 team, 20 —5; Mossburn No. 1 v. Queenstown No. 2, 14—16; Mossburn No 2 v, Queenstown No. 1, 12—9; Queenstown No. 1 v. Queenstown No. 2, 5 —15. Played Won Lost
