Only Committee Members Arrive for Annual Meeting
Progressive League Affairs Not “ Progressing ” Because only committee members were present, the annual meeting of the Queenstown Progressive League called for July 23 was postponed to Tuesday, August 5. The action by the chairman, Mr James Mcdonald, in abandoning the meeting was endorsed by those present. Instead of the annual meeting a committe meeting was held. A letter from the Upper Wakatipu Progress League advised that it was willing to co-operate with the Queenstown League in applying for the reduction on fares from Glenorchy for residents during the off season. The Lake County Council granted permission to the League to erect tablets of proven historic interest withip the county subject to the approval of their engineer. It was decided to support the Queenstown Borough Council in its representations to have the road leading to the camping grpund declared a highway and
