FIRE BRIGADE BALL

The hall was filled to capacity for the Annual Ball of the Arrowtown Volunteer Fire Brigade, held last Friday evening. Apart from local firemen visitors were present from Queenstown and Cromwell.

The hall was decorated with coloured streamers and in front of the stage, which was decorated with evergreens, the emblem of the fire'brigade was set •ut in coloured lights.. The Grand March was led by Superintendent E. L. and Mrs Thompson, and they were followed by 49 couples. Superintendent Thompson welcomed visitors and thanked them for their support. Fireman Partridge, Cromwell, and Fireman McNeill, 'Queenstown, replied on behalf of the visitors, thanking them for the pleasant and most successful evening.

A I ucky Snot Waltz was won by Miss Dagg and Mr Grant. Music was provided by McNamara’s Gaiety Baud. .Fireman W. Nairn was M.C.
