PLUNKET SOCIETY

Annual Meeting The annual meeting of the Lake • County Sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Band room* on Tuesday, July 8, when Mrs H. Davies presided over a splendid attendance. The annual report showed a busy year, the committee members had been most helpful in all efforts for the good of the Society. A change of nurse took place during the year, Nurse White, who had conscientiously served Queenstown as Plunket Nurse for eleven years, being transferred to Milton. . The duties in Queenstown and surrounding districts have been# taken over by the District Nurse, Miss Herbert. A welcome was extended to Miss Herbert and the committee expressed the wish that her association with the Society would be most pleasant. The report appealed for continued and willing support from mothers as well as committee members. The- balance sheet disclosed a very satisfactory position. Mention was made of the society’s endeavour to build a Plunket Rest Room in Queenstown. The funds for this project have been substantially increased during the year, and it was hoped to hold a ball in the near future. society appeals to the public for generous support in this effort. The following office-bearers were elected: — President, Mrs H. Davies; vice-presi-dents —Mrs J. W. Miller, Mrs W. Hales, Mrs J. C. Scott, Mrs B. Curtis; secretary, Mrs A. A. Tripp; treasurer, Mrs H. D. Walker; committee —Mesdames AV. A. Anderson, W. Davidson, J. Spencer, E. R. Hopwood, G. Lynch, AV. E. Robins, T. Donaldson, I. L. Norris, T. Luckie, and P. D. Dougherty. The following were nominated as new members:—Mrs B. Marshall, Mrs A. Robins, Mrs Pcrriam and Mrs W. Wethy, Mrs H. Davies, president, thanked all members for their interest, work and co-
