Hopwood, County Clerk, has left to attend the Counties’ Conference that is being held in Christchurch. * # * Mr David Gibson, of Lake Pukaki, is at present the guest of Mr and Mrs P. Gibson, Hotel Eichardts. # * * Mrs E. R. Hopwood, accompanied by her daughter, Miss Ann. and Miss C. Cosgrove, are visiting Invercargill. * * * Mr and Mrs Alex Munro left on Wednesday morning for Oamarn and Christchurch. # # * Mi ss McNeill, of the Hermitage, is the guest of Mr and Mrs E. D. McNeill, of Mcßride’s Hotel. * « * Mr H. Coxhead, New Zealand Group Travel Service, paid a visit to Queenstown. during last week. * # * Mr Hart, of the Lawrence branch of the Bank of New Zealand, is at present relieving teller at Queenstown. * * * Mr Stan Lonsdale is at present at home on annual leave. Stan has received advice of a transfer to Cromwell. * * # Mr J. E. Home, Misses B. and R. Home, accompanied by Misses P. and D. Mills, left by car during the week to spend a few days in Christchurch. Mr and Mrs C. G. Pettigrew and Miss S. Pettigrew arrived in Queenstown from Fairlie. Mr Pettigrew lias been appointed to the position of chief clerk in the local N.Z.R. office. * * Mr 1). H. Cockhurn loft on Monday to attend a meeting of the Main Highways Council at Wellington and to represent the Council, together with the County Clerk, at the Counties’ Conference at Christchurch. A party of skiers, arranged by the Government Group Travel Service, Invercargill. arrived at Queenstown over the week-end to enjoy the ski-ing that is available on Coronet Peak field.
