REQUEST FOR GRANT DEFERRED
A deputation from the Borough Council which met the Minister of Internal Affairs recently seeking a grant for improvements to the new sports area have been advised that owing to the large number of applications awaiting attention a further grant could not be made in the meantime. The request was made under the Physical Welfare and Recreation Act, of 1937. A grant of £375 was made available some time ago from this same source.
