WOMEN’S DIVISION

The fifth monthly meeting of the Arrowtown branch of the W.D.F.F. was held in the schoolroom on Saturday, June 21. In spite of weather conditions, Mrs Summers presided over a record attendance. An apology was received from Mrs J. B. Hamilton, and a hearty welcome was extended to Mrs K. Ferguson, who kindly co-operated with Mrs C. Davis in a smocking demonstration.

The demonstration for the July meeting is “ Bags for all Occasions.” Mr E. Thompson’s offer to demonstrate mop making from unravelled woollen garments has been enthusiastically accepted for the August meeting. A report was received from Mrs D. Cockburn, executive member on the Provincial Conference, recently held in Dunedin. The balance sheet was presented.
