Some mothers find it very difficult to keep bootees on baby’s feet, however carefully they are tied in place. One mother I know solved the problem in a way that’s worth passing on. She worked a row of smoking just round the ankle of each pair of bootees. This “gives” when the bootees are drawn over the foot, and keeps them in place.
