Try It This Way.
Some mothers find it very difficult to keep bootees on baby’s feet, however carefully they are tied in place. One mother I know solved the problem in a way that’s worth passing on. She worked a row of smoking just round the ankle of each pair of bootees. This “gives” when the bootees are drawn over the foot, and keeps them in place. Practical —and you can picture for yourself how pretty it could look. Paid Up. A firm of Oxford ironmongers has received payment of a debt of £1 4s fid contracted by an undergraduate 31 years ago. No Smoking for Burglars. The Fire Chief of Hamilton, Ontario, has asked burglars not to smoke at work. “It’s bad enough to rob a place,” he says, “but worse to leave it ablaze. Because of haste and nervous tension burglars are likely to drop butts.”
